An Atmospheric Space

Another chapter in the book not previously mentioned was Martial Cove, which was essentially my involvement in Wing Chun Kung Fu for the past 5 years, including (more recently) frequent trips overseas for training.

When asked to pick a space, one whose colour added to the intrinsic quality of it, I selected the VTAA, the Wing Chun school I trained in in Hong Kong, and still attend periodically. The aged white walls and grey tiles, combined with the sounds and smells of Kowloon outside the window provides and environment that allows one to focus, whilst housing so much martial history. Above is an image of myself with my Sisuk (teacher-uncle) Ma at the said space, and below is my watercolour, perspective interpretation of the space, as well as a floorplan.
